Assault on Democracy

Bush signed a bill today restricting class-action lawsuits by taking them out of state courts and into the hands of federal judges. The motivation behind this effort has gone unmentioned in the press. Whats the difference between civil litigation in state courts versus federal courts? The relative lack of jury trials at the federal level. What the corporate community does not want is for their actions to be judged by a community of your peers.
